SAAC W. MAJOR:
Isaac W. Major was a member of the first South Chester Borough Council, was the first tax collector and was for years identified with the management of the municipal affairs of the lower end of the city.

He was born inUpper Darby and has carried on the business of blacksmithing in Media, Shoemakerville and South Chester. He was the father of five children, four living and one dead. There are twenty-six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
