Graduated with high honors at Johns Hopkins Univeristy, Baltimore and though not twenty-one years of age was, upon the recommendation of the faculyt called to the chair of Electricity in he State university, at Lincoln Nebraska. The management sent Professor Owens to Soctland in the interests ofscience, and on his return he was placed in charge of the Electircal Exhibit at the World's Fair in Chicago, l893. In l898 Professor Ownes was tendered the Chair of "applied Science, " by faculty of the McGill University, Montreal, canada, and hornor seldom conferred on one os young. He accepted the call, and is now in Montreal
