Was educated at Dickerson College, and at St. John;s college Annapolis Maryland. Served in the Confederat Army during Civil War l8l61-64, and in l866 he went to Missouri and thence to Montana, whe he livved several years, butfinally settled inthe Southern part of California. in l898 he went to phillipsburg Montant where his eldest son was postmaste,rhoping that achange of climate would restore him to helalth, but he died Aug. 27,l898 and was buried at Phillipsburg Montana

Was a studen at St. Timothy's hall near baltimore, and later at Washington College, Kent County Maryland. He then attended lectures at the Medical Univeristy of Marlandin Baltimore. In l869 was ppointed one of the clincial assistants at eh Baltimore Infirmary. Tok his degree in medicinie at the Univesity in the class of l870, and became assistant physician to Baltimore Infirmary. Later he resigned this positionand wnet ot Montana Territory, where he pursued his proffesion for several years, but finally returned to Baltimore and resumed practice in that icy. Was one of the organizers of he Northwestern Dispensary." as well as attendingphyscian to that chrityfor years. Was a member of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty and Curator, as weel as visiting physician to the Church Home for a long time. Retired from active practice in l890, and resides at his home on North Eutaw Streein winter and at his country place near Catonsville during the summer month.
