It is also said that he ought in the Partirot Army during the Revolution.

296. HENRY BRUNE⁷ BOWIE (WALTER WILLIAM WEMMS⁶, WALTER JR.⁵, WALTER SR.⁴, WILLIAM (CAPT)³, JOHN SR.², JOHNE¹ BOWY) was born Jun 26, 1845. He married FLORENCE REESE Nov 06, 1872.

when he was sixteen he went South, entered the Confederat Army,served in the lst Virginia Cavalry, under Fitz Lee, and was three times wounded. He returned hom in the fall of l864 on furlough, in consequence of his wounds, and was there when his borther, Capt. Walter Bowies passed on his last and fatal raid through Maryland. He at once attached himself to the scouting party, and was at his brother;s side when the latter was shotfrom ambush near Sany Springs, Mongomery County, MMAryland. Brune Bowie reamined at the side of his dying brother and wastaken prisoner and confined in the "old Cpaitol": at Washington, until thewar ended the followin spring . The Federal Authorities had determined to exterminate Walter Bowie andhis entire command and Brune Bowie narrowly escaped death when first captured. Some years later he removed ot Baltimore, where he resided, and is engaged in the exportation of lumber.

He embarked with his regiment for Cub, but teh latter was ordered into camp at Tampa florida where he ramined until the command retuned home upon the cessation of hostilities.
