I am researching the Faupel family from Fritzlar, Hesse and from Warburg, Westphalia, Germany. My main area of research is the line headed by Caspar Faupel (1824-1902) and his wife, Dorothea Gartner (1823-1893), who had nine sons: August (1852), Heinrich (1854), Hubert (1856), Charles (1858), William (1860), Joseph-Werner (1861), Johann-Christian (1865), Peter-Paul (1867) and Georg-Wilhelm (1872). The first reference to the name Faupel I have found is that of a Jacob Faupel, who had a son Johann Hermann, and the earliest date, 27 April 1743, being the date of the marriage of Johann to Anna Stier, which took place in Fritzlar. I am also researching the Dilger Family from Bubenbach, Schwarzwald, to whom we are related. I have established that the earliest ancestor was Josef Dilger born 1743 and died 1823. His grandson was Markus Dilger (1790-1871), who married twice and had fourteenchildren. Any information would be appreciated. I am willing to share the information I have already. I am particularly interested in acquiring old photographs associated with people or places. Milton Keynes, UK.
