I am researching the Fay and Teichmann families. I have traced back to Hans Adam Fey/Fei born in Germany about 1680. He died on 4 Aug 1742 in Schneppenbach, Germany. This area has been also named as Saxony and Prussia on some records. It is part of the Hunsruchen Area of Germany. Our line of this family emigrated to America on 1 May 1840 from Havre and arrived at the Port of New York on 2 July, 1840.They came on the St. Louis of Boston. When they landed, they first settled in Black Rock, New York. From there, they moved to Burlington, Wisconsin. Some members moved on to La Crosse, Wisconsin, and then others on to Iowa, Minnesota, and other areas both within Wisconsin and to other states. I am having much more difficulty with tracing the Teichmann family. At this time, I am working on the Raebel and Nelson connections, also.I have traced the Teichmann line back to William E. who lived in West Granville, WI with his wife, Louisa Raebel, later moving to Pierce County Wisconsin with their family at the time of the Civil War.My grandfather Frank, married my grandmother, Marie Nelson in 1893.They lived first in Pierce County Wisconsin until they retired in Red Wing, Minnesota. I have become acquainted with distant cousins on both sides of this family and am enjoying this in addition to learning about my family and my husband's family. Those families that I am researching are the following: FAY HUBER KUNTZ LEHMANN MILLER MOESER MUELLER NELSON RAEBEL SCHAUFERT TEICHMANN WILKE Because of losing all information on my computer, I have not added all the information that I have unearthed, but will continue to update this site as I recover more information. | |
