Alexander Long, born around 1831, in Ireland, immigrated to Ohio in approximately 1850. He married Susan Dunlavey, who was born in Ohio in approximatley 1839. Susan's parents were also immigrants from Ireland. Alexander and Susan had nine children: Margaret (Maggie) Long born December 25, 1859 in Ohio; m. George C. Osborn on February 4, 1886; John Ellsworth Long born February, 1868 in Ohio; m. Fannie Wood on November 16, 1892; Alexander Long born March, 1872 in Kansas; Wesley Long born February 1874 in Kansas; Anthony Major Long born August 20, 1879 in Kansas m.
