|My interest in genealogy began in the mid-80's when I saw the tombstone of my great-great-great-great grandmother in Stevington, England (Bedfordshire). Since then I have amassed a collection of over 200 ancestors and decendents in a Family Tree Maker file.
I am looking for information on the following families:
Emigrated from England in the 1840's and settled in Albany, NY and Newark, NJ. Started shoe factories and stores.
Most decendents live in New York and Boston areas. A few moved West.
Oldest name is William Fearey, born in about 1783, possibly in Northhamptonshire.
Decendents of Amos Lawrence, a Boston merchant in the 1700's.
I am particularly interested in information about ancestors in England. The oldest name I have is Henry Lawrence who was born in Suffolk County in about 1580, but I have no information about spouses, children, occupations.
Emigrated from Dramen, Norway in about 1880, to Milwaukee.
Most decendents are in Milwaukee. A few in California.
Emigrated from what is now Slovenia in about 1910.
I have no names other than Katherine, my grandmother who died in 11/1987.
Best way to reach me is by e-mail or phone in the evenings.
