Our FEESE and WOOD surnames are linked to HARRISON, ROSE & GRIMM, and ARTHUR, TOWNSEND & GILL surnames, respectively as well as: GIST, HACKER, DROHMAN and SIMMONS, HILL, JONES and COCKBURN and others. The ROSE line has been traced back to Robert ROSE and his wife Margery who came to the US in 1634. Family legend says our ARTHUR line is related to President Chester Alan ARTHUR, but that remains undocumented, at this time. Both the FEESE and WOOD lines are said to have Cherokee blood, which also remains undocumented at present. Other nationalities include Scottish, English, German, Bavarian, and "Black Dutch" heritage. I am very interested in defining the term "Black Dutch" which I am told is of German origin. Our parents and grandparents are mostly from Oklahoma and Kansas. These lines go back to Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Tennesse, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and New York. |
