| WELCOME TO MY STILTS FAMILY TREE MAKER HOME PAGE!!! I have been researching my family history for the past five years and in the process have collected over 10,000 dead (and living!) relatives. Listed below are my eight major surname lines together with the related family lines for each surname. Included is a brief history of the family and the major locations the family lived. If you feel we have a connection, please feel free to contact me, as I have many more names and much more information on all of these families. Be sure to look under the Related Links section for links to my other home pages. _________________________________________________________ STILTS/STELTZ: This family originated in Germany and lived right on the Baltimore Co., MD/York Co., PA border from the 1750's to about 1812. Then the family migrated to Richland Co., OH and my branch moved on to Guernsey/Noble Cos., OH from the 1830's to 1920's. Related Lines: HETRICK, STONEBURNER, LONG, GILDOW/KILDOW, RUEL LINN/LYNN: This line is connected to the prominent LYNN's of Fayette Co., PA. My family (John and Rebecca Linn), moved to Noble Co., OH about 1858. Related Lines: SCARBOROUGH, VOORHEES, WILLIAMS, KRITZWISSER BATES: The Bates family originated in England and my immigrant ancestor, Elder Edward Bates settled in Weymouth, MA and raised his family. My BATES line moved on to Cummington, MA about 1790 and in 1830 moved to Geauga Co.,OH for a few years before settling in Allegan Co., MI about 1855. The information I have on this branch is by far the most extensive as it involves many, many early New England families (including two Mayflower families - STANDISH and WARREN). Related Lines: GILBERT (of New Haven, CT), THOMAS, WHITMAN, WHITMARSH, ALLEN, LINCOLN, CHITTENDEN, WOODWORTH, EAMES, AUGUR, BAILEY, WATERMAN, etc. CRAGG: Originally from Scotland, my family resided for a while in Ontario, Canada before moving to Lenawee Co., MI for several years. Some of the family moved on to Yakima Co., WA. Related Lines: LEISENRING DREVLO: This family was ethnic German, but resided for many years in Russia, near Memel, East Prussia (now Klaipeda, Lithuania). The immigrated from Hamburg to New York on February 12th, 1899 aboard the steamship "Phoenicia." The family settled in Pittsburgh until the 1920's and then moved to the San Bernardino Co., CA area. Related Lines: SCHEFFLAR and SCHETAT. YEAGER/JAEGER: This family was also German and originated in Thuringin. The SIEGMANN family originated in Biberach, near Heilbronn, Germany. Both families settled in Pittsburgh, PA. Related Lines: SIEGMANN and JAEGER (from Heilbronn). BABCOCK: Descendants of James BABCOCK of Westerly, Rhode Island. This family also includes many New England links. My branch of the family moved to Columbia Co., NY and then on to Brantford, Ontario, Canada. About 1890, my gg-grandfather moved to Chicago to marry and raise his family. Related Lines: STANTON, GALLUP, WIGHT, WINKLEPLECK, BAIR. LARSON: Unfortunately, this family I have the least amount of information on. The family originated in Sweden and my gg-grandfather immigrated about 1891 to Chicago, IL. Related lines: NELSON |
