Called Old Dave.
His acreage of farm was allotted to him about 1/2 mile down Beaver Creek from the home place. (That belonging to his father) This farm was known and the "Old Dave Mynhier" place for many years. It was also the place where the first Post Office was established around 1880 or 1890. Elizabeth of (Lizzie) Mynhier (dau. of Robert) inherited her grandfather's place or a part of it. According to the marriage record of Robert W. Mynhier, son of David, it states that Robert's parents (David and Cassy were both born in Menifee Co., KY. (Menifee Co., formed in 1869) The death record for Robert W. Mynhier states his parents were: David S. Mynhier b: Ky. and Casssy Andrue Brown b: Ky. This information was supplied to the undertaker in 1935 for record by N.R. Mynhier (Nathan Roe) so it may be incorrect. N. R. Mynhier is the grandson of Robert W. Mynhier. Cassy's middle name of Andure may be Audren since Robert W. Mynhier had a son named Audren. No proof that Audren was named for his grandmother.

After he married he moved out to what was called Ridge Country or Big Woods. Robert's son Ben Frank stayed on the farm all his life.

David was the father of Robert (Lob) Mynhier. His farm later was the site of the first post office in the Beaver Valley. James W. (Jim) Swim carried the mail over the Leatherwood Hill from the White Sulphur Springs Resort by mule to establish the Lonesome Post Office on November 6th, 1885. (On November 1, 1890 George F. Mynhier was post master and by May 15, 1897 George H. Harmon had become the post master.) The Lonesome Post Office was changed on September 14, 1907 with its mail then sent to Yale, Kentucky. This farm was in the family until the Cave Run Dam was built. It was owned by his granddaughter Elizabeth and her husband, Newt Montgomery, and family at the time.
