This photograph shows the house and some of the outbuildings of the Ackley shade-grown tobacco farm on Main Street in East Hartford, Connecticut, ca. May 1900. The farm was first owned and operated by Elijah Ackley, and later by his son, William K. Ackley (my great-grandfather).
