Sarah Elizabeth Noonan Evans (1849-1906) was one of my grandmother's five aunts who helped to bring her up after her mother's death. The lace from the dress "Aunt Sally" is wearing in this formal portrait was later used to make the wedding dress of my paternal grandmother, Lillian Elsie Noonan Barnes.
