I am interested in 5 family trees:
The ancestors & descendants of:

1. John Finlasson, immigrant, b bef 6-17-1735, of Orange Co., VA. His descendants spell their name Fendlason, and moved from NC & SC to Macon Co., AL in 1835 and then to Tangipahoa Parish, LA in 1846.

2. Wallace Finlayson, b 1683 or 1694, believed Scottish, spoke Gaelic, arrived in Boston 6-6-1712. Married Frances Bennett and lived in Portsmouth, NH. Wallace was a ship’s captain in the coastal trade. He was captured by pirates off Barbados in 1720, who stole his sloop and 3 men and set him adrift or ashore. He survived, but later died before 9-27-1727, likely at sea. His widow moved to ME. His grandchildren Anglicized the name to Fenderson and Fenlason in the 1770’s.

3. Afro-Americans, could be one family or several, many free before the Civil War, several served in the Union Army, descendants include doctors and college professors and are located all over the U.S.
B. H. Fenderson, b abt 1800 in NC, barber in Philadelphia, PA
London Fenderson, b abt 1805 in NC, laborer, literate, moved to Mobile, AL
Rev. Baston Fenderson, b abt 1805, preacher in Linden, AL

William Fenderson, b abt 1815 in NC, carpenter, lived in Beaufort, NC
Ship Fenderson, b abt 1815 in NC, farm laborer, lived in Jefferson, AL

4, William Grieve, b 1799 in England, d Harvey, NB, Canada. When the shipload of settlers, William and his wife among them, arrived in Saint John, NB, they found the land company, to whom they had paid for their land, was defunct. The Province then granted land for them to clear and settle in Harvey.

Descendants only of:

5. Rowland Tyler, b 1780 Attleboro, MA, d 1868 Bangor, ME. (Rowland’s ancestors have already been well documented.)

I have information on 8800 individuals in the above five families. If you would tell me how you connect to one of these families and what information you have, I would look forward to sharing my information with you and hope that we could discover new information by working together. I am particularly interested in knowing what the oldest family stories, heirlooms, or pictures are that you might have.
