Fenn and Chesley Genealogy Data Collection Home Page (!)Updated June 28, 2007 | |
| My InterneTree contains 2000 individuals of and related to the Fenn and Chesley families. Most have personally authenticated source data available from me, even if it is not listed (with that many people, I got tired of data entry!!) I have followed a number of leads which for me were dead ends, but may be of use to some and I am always willing to share what I have, whether it is on the net or in my paper trail collection. I have principally worked on the England 1600s Fenn connection, and have visited the area extensively, viewing many source documents. I am convinced than the correct parentage for Benjamin is James and Joan. (Note: I seem to have a "spare" branch in my electronic tree which duplicates some of the Benjamin line. Until I can figure out how to remove it, please make sure you are viewing the one which descends from James/Joan). Any info is welcome, and I am also interested in creating a database of all known Fenn branches - a major project that will take many years, but it is not that big a family comparatively (until you have to type it all!). I am also searching my mother's family name of Chesley, the first of whom in this country was John Chesley I in Maryland, from England or Scotland. I have no other specifics for a UK location, but I have been unable to locate any of that name there, and have some reason to think that the spelling may have been altered somewhere along the way. I have, however, corrected the errors regarding how many early John's were there really, and have some pretty good information to support the idea the the original John came from Lanarkshire, Scotland. And, although there are no records that I have yet found to back it, 'family rumor' has it that John originally landed somewhere in Virgina before moving to Maryland. Next project - my paternal grandmother's family line, Volkmann, which traces to Giesing and Eisleben, Germany, in the 1800s. What a great reason to travel!!! |
