Descendants of Unknown Dyches

Generation No. 1

1. UNKNOWN1 DYCHES was born ABT 1725.

Notes for U
NKNOWN DYCHES:
The father of James Dyches has never been determined. The information shown here are the "best guesses." as to who that person may be.

The following was found in the Virginia Historical Society Library:

In Deed Book 3 & 4 " Deed of Gift of James Dicks to dau. Frances, the wife of David Balwin, deeded on May 19 1749 in consideration of love and affection for his daughter, one Negro girl named Jenny, and reserving for himself the use of the girl for his natural life". On page 103 of the same book James Dicks sold a track of land (200 acres) for 85# on Aug 22, 1751 to John Booker. It joins John Balwin. The time frame is correct for this to be the father of James Dyches. It is more likely however, that Henry Dyche is the father

A Henry Dyche was a taxpayer in Greenbrier County, Va. in 1805 and 1815. Source: Greenbrier County, Virginia (Now West Virginia) Records Vol 2 1805. This was found in the Louisville Public Library in book, "Va. Taxpayers".

The information on Henry Dyche has been gathered from several sources. We know he lived in Greenbrier County Virginia. It is known that some of the members of the Dyches family came to Tennessee and on to Kentucky just as it is known that some members of the Henry Dykes family did the same.
