Feb. 27, 1904--Ira comes to Latham from St. Louis for his sister, Eva Shafer's, funeral.
----------------
Aug. 12, 1905--An old fashioned family reunion took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T.T. Ferguson last Sunday. Nearly all of their children, grand-children, and seven great-grand-children were present and enjoyed the occasion. Two sons, Ira, who is in the street car service in St. Louis, and Wm. Ferguson of Eminence, Mo., could not be here. Those here from other places were, Geo. Ferguson of Wolcott, Ind., Frank Ferguson and wife, of Winfield. In all there were forty present representing four generations. Mr. Ferguson has lived in and near Latham for 26 years. He now owns a beautiful little home one-half mile west of town where he has lived for the past 18 years, and where this day was spent. Mr. And Mrs. Ferguson and the large number of relatives enjoyed the day's visit together very much and may they all live to see other happy reunions like this.
----------------
May 27, 1909--Ira Ferguson, who is working at the barber trade in Hot Springs, Arkansas, is expected home the last of the week, also James Ferguson, who is traveling in Oklahoma and Arkansas. When the boys all get home they intend to have a genuine old fashioned family reunion, and when cousins, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, brothers, sisters and all get together, there will be enough to make quite a showing.

July 17, 1909--Ira Ferguson came in Tuesday evening from Hot Springs, Arkansas, for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.T. Ferguson, and other relatives.

July 23, 1909--(Ira attended a birthday party in Latham given for Otto Sontag and Henry Sensenbaugh.)
---------------

Note: Ira returns home around the end of September, 1911 with a new wife.

Oct. 12, 1911--
A NEW BARBER SHOP: Some two weeks ago Mr. & Mrs. Ira Ferguson arrived from St. Louis where Mr. Ferguson has been in the barber business for the past several years, and it is their intention to make Latham their home in the future. Mr. Ferguson has purchased the old post office building, now occupied by G.N. Jackson as a barber shop, from his father T.T. Ferguson, and last week went to Winfield and purchased a comparatively new barber outfit to be placed in the building as soon as Mr. Jackson vacates the same.

We understand that Mr. Ferguson is a splendid workman and will no doubt receive his share of the patronage. Mr. Ferguson informs us that they will make their home with his parents in order that they may make the burden of house keeping lighter on his aged mother and father. Mr. Ferguson hopes to get to be nicely fitted up and at work in his new place of business by the last of this month or the first of next.

Nov. 2, 1911--
FERGUSON & JACKSON--This week G.N. Jackson and Ira Ferguson formed a partnership and hereafter will conduct the City Barber shop. Some time ago Mr. Ferguson purchased new furniture which has been installed, and now Latham can boost on one of the best equipped and neatest shops in Southern Kansas. The boys invite you all to see their new place. See their ad and notice next week.
---------------
Feb. 8, 1912--Mr. & Mrs. Ira Ferguson now occupy the Hinton property on Walnut street.

May 30, 1912--Born to Mr. & Mrs. Ira Ferguson, Tuesday morning, May 28, an eight pound baby girl. Dr. McKinney reports that the condition of father Ira is critical at times, but has hopes he will soon be able to take his old position at the shop.

Birth Certificate for Audrey Ferguson states she was born on May 28, 1912 and her mothers maiden name was Emma Johnson. It also states her mothers age on her last birthday was 36 and her place of birth as Missouri. I found a Death Certificate in St Louis, Missouri for Audrey Ferguson that shows she died on May 29, 1914 of Scarlet Fever. The Certificate lists her birthplace as Kansas and date of birth as May 28, 1912. It states her fathers name was Ira Ferguson and her mothers maiden name was Emma Stockel and the mothers place of birth as Illinois.

Aug. 15, 1912--Ira Ferguson was in Winfield Monday on business.

Sept. 5, 1912--Last ad for City Barber Shop with Ira Ferguson, proprietor. With years of experience in the barber business in the larger cities, I believe I can please you. Two bars Colgate's Shaving Soap for 15c. For men who shave themselves this is your opportunity to get goods at a low price. Ira Ferguson, Propr.\\
--------------
Feb. 12, 1914--Ira Ferguson arrived Wednesday morning from St. Louis where he has been in the barber business since he left Latham some months ago.

Feb. 19, 1914--Ira Ferguson has returned to St. Louis after a 10 day visit to his parents, Mr. & Mrs. T.T. Ferguson.

Burial: Unknown, Brooking Cemetery, Raytown, Mo

Notes for E
MMA JOHNSON/STOCKEL:
Birth Certificate for daughter Audrey shows maiden name as Emma Johnson and place of birth Missour? Also shows that Audrey as the second child born to Emma so she must have been married before her marriage to Ira. Number of previous children now living was left blank on the form. Death notice for Audrey contradicts this and lists mothers maiden name as Emma Stockel place of birth Illinois.
