Thomas and Mary moved to Lawrence Co. IND in the early 1800's. They may have moved around 1816 with her brother, John Whitted Sr., when he came. Jonathan did not come with them.

Donald P. Whitted notes that Hugh Whitted, another researcher, says that there were 15 children in this family, 10 male, and 5 female. Sidney is Hugh's ancestor. The Evancos list 9 children in this family, naming only Sidney, as the 9th child. They also have a note about Sidney:
"A mystery remains as to the parentage of Sidney Whitted. One family genealogist suggests that his father was 'James Whitted' (born ca. 1783). Another source suggests that Sidney Whitted was a son of Thomas Whitted Jr. (born 1780 - 1784). The authors leave this complex problem to be resolved by the reader."
