Researching William Guenther and his wife Maria who came to the United States with their three children, William Jr., Christian, and John (Johann) October 10, 1872. The ship's name was Cimbria, and left from Hamburg and Havre, Germany. He arrived in New York on October 10, 1872. According to the passenger list, there was also a 16 year old child named Carl, a female named Wilhe (18 years old), and an 11 month old male infant named Friedr. (perhaps Frederick) Unable to determine if the last three children belonged to William and his wife Maria. Christian John Guenther married Sophia, Niles Twp,Skokie, IL and had ten children, Arthur, Alma, Willaim Louise, Harry, Otto, Anne, Sophia, Clara, Emil (my father), Fredia, Dorothy, Mamie. |
