Updated September 6, 2000

GGGrandfather George Nathan Clark was living in Newton Co., Georgia in 1840. Old family pictures were made in Conyers, Ga. In 1838 he sold 350 acres of land in Newton Co. for $800. In 1844 he was living between Wellington and Alexandria, Al. (Between Anniston and Gadsden). Living next to him at that time was John B. Clark and Jefferson G. Clark who may or may not have been related. G. Nathan was born in 1811 in SC. His father was also born in SC. I am trying to verify his father. I think he may have been Elijah Clark last listed in Newton Co., Georgia census in 1870. G. Nathan was married to Alice (Allie) Pool. The Pool family lived next to the Clarks in Newton Co.Also seeking ancestors of William Fields. William born in Georgia 1813 Married Elizabeth who was born Ga about 1810. They had 3 children- (1) Mary A. born about 1835, (2) ThomasJ. Born 4-26-1837, Married mary Frances Johnson B. 3-1-1842, (3) James J . Born Georgia, 8-1848 , Married Lucinda Elizabeth Fincher Born Randolph Co., Alabama 11-4-1850.
