| We are currently researching the four branches of our family, one for each of the grandparents. All four of our grandparents immigrated to Canada from Europe: Scotland and Germany. Robert Taylor Finlayson (1895-1988) came from Pollokshaws, Glasgow, Scotland. Kathleen Wilkey Burns (1896-1983) came from Newton-Stewart, Ayrshire, Scotland. Maxmilian Pfefferle (1877-1953) came from Unterminster-tahl, Baden, Germany via Minnesota, USA. Therasia Forster (1882-1975) came from Landshut, Bavaria, Germany. We have researched many of the recent (19th and 20th Century) members, but hope to collect more information and members from the previous centuries. We have, of course, lost touch with some members of our extended family: like the family of Josephina Sutter(born abt. 1850) of Baden, Germany; the family of Danial Jones, brother of Griffith Jones, of Carnarvonshire,North Wales who immigrated to the USA about 1909. |
