ABNER SHANNON WILEY, born 25 December 1789. He married Jane Weatherly, the Guilford County Marriage Bond dated 7 September 1811.
He was a soldier from North Carolina in the War of 1812. He is listed in Jonathan Parker's district in the 1815 Guilford County Tax List withninety-two acres of land worth $400 and one slave. He is listed in the 1820 Guilford County census.He moved to Hendricks County, Indiana,in 1840, the census there listing him as having two sons and two daughters in his household. By 1850, he had left Hendricks County. He and his son, A. S. Wiley, joined the army of gold-seekers and spent threeyears in the mountain mines of Oregon.Abner Shnnon Wiley died in Jefferson County, Nebraska, on 10 March 1879, at the home of his son, Abner.
