The Chichestor Mystery?

My Great Grandmother hid who she was, that's the only certainty I have.

My Great Grandmother was a busy well travelled woman. She appears to have lived in South Africa, Canada, NZ, Aust and the UK.

She seems to have had 3 children to 3 different fathers (and I suspect the birth of a 4th child).

The first I know about is a son, Lovell Glendower Tresham b.1906 who died in WW2 (war graves NX52907), and who is listed as the son of Jack & Olive Tresham of East Sydney, Australia. Based on documents I now have I know that he was born Lovell Glendower Smith and he changed his name after immigrating to Australia on 10 Aug 1922 (he changed his name between 1922 & 1930). I am now also convinced (but have no evidence) that Jack Tresham who he claims as a fatehr is a complete fabrication. He was bought up by his grandparents in Westbury on Severn Gloucestershire.

The second child is Maud Olive Millard b.1920 (my Grandmother) who she had according to the birth certificate with William Millard. The only problem is that he does not seem to have existed and in fact it looks more likely that she was married to a Samual Millard. However Maud Olive was born in the UK but they list their home address as Durban South Africa. There are no records of them ever living in the locations listed in the birth certificate.

There is also an unknown child b. circa 1925 to a Captain Tom, a farmer in Gorleston, Norfolk, UK.

Great Granny had a child Patricia Marcia Millard b.16 Jan 1928 with Joseph Caldwell of Colchestor UK, he left his wife and 3 daughters, changed his name to Millard and moved with her to Calgary Alberta Canada.

Great Granny seems to have had a number of husbands,

1. Jack Tresham
2. Beale - I cant tell if this is her maiden name or another husband?
3. Samual Millard, South Africa (after beale died she is listed as a widow on this marriage certificate). (a 56 year old when they married who a newspaper reports shot at her at the train station in Dean or Glouster when she was saying goodbye to a soldier (WW1?)
4. Joseph Caldwell, (her last husband who ran away from his own family and 3 daughters. They moved in Calgary, Canada). J.C Caldwell had a brother called Sam who was blown up in front of him in WW1. I now have his enlistment records and military registration number (he was in the 9th Lancers) and I have traced a fair amount of his family.

I know that the Caldwell children and or grandchildren contacted my Grandmother a few years ago, their contact address and letter has been lost, but I'd very much like to hear from them, if anyone knows who they are and how I could contact them please let me know?
