This site has two families: The Fink-Bass lineage and the Crocker-Henderson lineage. The Fink Family who originated in Triftersberg, Bavaria, Germany and emmigrated to the United States in the mid 1800's.Fink married Payeur who were French immigrants from Bisping, France. Challenges are further links on the Fink family that did not emmigrate and further origins in Germany.Other dead-ends are Weisinger - Weisman (also from Germany) The Bass side of the family has it's origins primarily from Scotland, Ireland and England.This side of the family is from the South and has a longer history in the States.Other family names are Black, Martin, Brinson, and Redding. The most frustrating dead-end is David Sherman Bass born in 1880 in Indiana (died on 12/3/1933 in Crystal River, FL).He is supposedly a nephew to the notorious bandit Sam Bass and had encountered enough trouble in his life that he was wanted (sometimes going under the alias of Carlton). ****************************************************************************************************** The Crocker family emmigrated from England in the 1600's to the Isle of Wight, VA.The point that is difficult to connect is the exact relationships in England and their potential connection to other Crockers who emmigrated at the same period. A particular dead-end within this line is Catherine F. Lawson (a full blood either Creek or Choctaw native).She was born in 1843 in Sprott, AL and married Thomas Norton.We are unable to trace any further back on either Catherine or Thomas -- but particularly to be able to connect the Native American lineage of Catherine. The Henderson family is also from Alabama but only able to trace back to John Copeland Henderson who was born in 1804 in GA. Several of the Hendersons became Methodist ministers. |
