On November 15,1848 ten year old Owen Finnegan arrived in the Port of New York on the SS Linden outward bound from Sligo in Ireland. Owen was accompanied by brothers John and Patt.

By 1870 Owen, by then an employee of the Northern Railroad, had married Jane Moore, another Irish immigrant and was a resident of Waterbury, Connecticut with three children, Jane, (1858), Frank (1864) and William (1866).

In 1869 Daniel was born. In 1910 Daniel, his wife Sara (originally from Ottawa) and their children Joseph, William and Helen emigrated to Ottawa, Ontario Canada where he remained for the remainder of his life. Prior to his leaving Waterbury, Daniel ran a wholesale and retail tobacco business on Grand Street. His brothers William and Frank remained in Connecticut as did his sister Anne who married Thomas Hardy.

Any information on the any Finnegan family in Waterbury Connecticut in the 19th, 20th and current century would be appreciated.
