| I was blessed to receive a family history book of the Gladden's from my mother-in-law, Virginia Gladden (Finley). The first Gladden listed is John L. Gladden, born 1800 and died 1884. Mrs. Finley and I have updated the information to the present-- and with the help of BMG1997, and Major Cline Rhodes I have been able to fill in a lot of blanks. Thanks Brian and Major Other surnames for this research are Ellis, Finley, Barnett. There is Native American Heritage in this line. The tribes are Cherokee, Creek and Blackfoot. Most of the family is from North and South Carolina and parts of Georgia. I am also looking researching my family history. The surnames I have are :Allen, Call, Gharet or Garet, McBride, and Alexander. The areas they are from include, NC, SC, AL and TX.
