I am anxiously trying to discover from which European country my ancestors arrived from, as the farthest back I've been able to trace to this point is Pennsylvania in the early 1800s.

The earliest information I've been able to confirm to date is the following:

Jacob FINK, born 1795, death 1878 in Muskingum County, Ohio.
Married:
Christenia (unknown), born 1796, death 1877 in Muskingum County, Ohio. Possibly the daughter of John Riggle (Riegel) and Mary Conrad?

This family appears in the 1830 census for Washington County, Pennsylvania, but is not present in the 1820 census. They have been confirmed to have resided in Hopewell Township, Muskingum County, Ohio by 1832 where they had more children. Information prior to this is sketchy, but Census info suggests they were born in Pennsylvania or possibly Virginia...

Their children were:
(1) Mary, (Abt. 1813-1855), married Levi STUMP, (1809-1883) in 1834. Levi's parents were Daniel and Elizabeth.
(2) Johnston, (1817-1897), married Susanna PERRY, (1821-????) in 1847. Her parents were William PERRY and Lucy REDMAN. Susanna was previously married to William KREAGER, son of George and Cynthia. Johnston later married Hannah GUTHRIE, (1834-1907) in 1866. Hannah was the daughter of David GUTHRIE and Esther JAMISON.
(3) Nancy, (1819-1866), married Jessie WILSON, (1813-1870) in 1839. Jessie was the son of John and Nancy.
(4) Catherine, (1825-1873), married Gilmore HOLMES, (1825-1872) in 1846. Gilmore's father was Peter HOLMES, son of George HOLMES and Anna HILL. Peter was born in Prince William's County, Virginia, as was his wife, Elizabeth REDMAN. Elizabeth's parents were John REDMAN of Fauquier County, Virginia and Elizabeth CALVERT of Prince William's County, Virginia.
(5) Reasoner, (1827-1887), married Susannah HENSLEE, (1829-1920) in 1849. Reasoner's son Rudolphus owned a lumber company in Muskingum County, Ohio and married Susannah HURSEY.
(6) Christenia, (1830-Aft. 1882), married William BURNSWORTH, (Abt. 1823-Aft. 1872) in 1848, who was born in Pennsylvania.
(7) Elizabeth, (1832-1898), married Andrew WISE, Jr., (1830-1906) in 1852. Andrew's parents were Andrew J. WISE and Mary WEAVER, both of Pennsylvania.
(8) Jacob, Jr, (1835-1913), married Julia Ann DRUMM, (1842-1907) in 1859. Julia's parents were Peter DRUMM, whose family was from Loudoun County, Virginia, and Clarissa LAKE. Jacob's son Emanuel was tragically struck by lightning and killed at age 25, but not before marrying Mary HURSEY and having three sons, Jesse, Cleo, and Spencer.
(9) Jesse, (1838-1892), married Martha BURRIER, (1842-1930) in 1862. Martha's parents were Jacob BURRIER of Frederick County, Maryland and Charity CROWN, whose parents were from Prince George's County, Maryland.
(10) Eliza, (1841-Aft. 1880), married Andrew CAMPBELL, (1834-????) in 1859.

I have extensive information on descendents hereafter, including documentation and photographs which I'm willing to share. What I'm desperately seeking, though, is to trace this family further back to determine the European origination... If anyone can help me, please e-mail me! It would be greatly appreciated, and I would gladly share any information I have in return.

Thanks,

-Ty Fink
