I started researching my father's side of the family because it had been passed down through the generations that they were descended from the House of Bourbon, the Spanish throne, so my aim is to find the Spanish connection. I have only researched as far back as 1782 so far due to lack of time.

Joseph Darlington was born in 1782. He married Sarah and both are recorded on the 1851 Plymouth Census as living at 8 Lambhay Hill, Plymouth, Devon, UK. He was 69 and a Greenwich Pensioner and Sarah was 67. They also both appear on the 1861 Plymouth Census living at 9 Lambhay Hill, Plymouth, Devon, UK. Joseph was baptised on June 30 1782 and the surname although slightly illegible could have been Darlington or Darlingstone. They had 6 children, Sarah Lander, William, Eleanor, Joseph, Ann and John Darlington.

I have managed to trace quite a few descendents from 1782 to the present day, but would be glad to receive more information.
