Descendants of Bede BECKETT

Generation No. 2

2. PETER2 BECKETT (BEDE1) (Source: 1800 census.) was born Bef. 1770 (Source: Adult at the time of Bede's probate administration.). He married BETTY DRIGGERS (Source: Marriage record.) 27 Nov 1788 in Sussex Co., Delaware.

Notes for P
ETER BECKETT:
CAUTION: It is not proved that Perry Becketts is the son of Peter Beckett. It seems highly likely, due to the date and location of Peter's marriage (1788) compared to when Perry began to have children (ca. 1810). They might be brothers rather than father-and-son.

CAUTION: Paul Heinegg's material lists Peter as the son of Peter Beckett, a "Negro slave", and a white servant woman named Sarah Dawson. Source of information unknown.

Tax records list Peter in Nanticoke 100, Sussex, in 1791 and 1795 and in Little Creek 100, Sussex, in 1796 (Heinegg).

If Peter (or his family) was from Accomack Co., VA, he may be the over-45 Peter living there in 1820 and 1830, but not listed earlier. (No Delaware probate has been found, though there are probates for father Bede, son Perry, and grandson Greensbury.)
