Possible related Becketts:
In 1840, John Beckett (24-35), free colored, is in Kent Duck Creek 100, extrapolating that he has a wife, two young boys (might include Peter Becket b. 1832), and a female over 55 living with him. Has land record here from 1837. John at top of census page, and on previous page Deborix, Josiah, and John Miller, and William Loatman. No listing for John in 1830.
In 1840, Isaac Becket [36-54], free colored, is in New Castle Christiana 100, extrapolating that he has a wife or older daughter [24-35], a young son (might be Peter Becket b. 1832), and two young daughters living with him. Is in a very white neighborhood. In 1830, he is in Kent Little Creek 100, still age 36-54, wife still 24-35, and the two sons under 10 and one daughter under 10. This time he is among other free colored families. Not found in 1820.
In 1840, neither Greensbury Becketts nor Mitchell Perkins has anyone with them old enough to be Perry.
