Index to Wayne Co. probate packets:
In Probate Packet #12710, Henry Farmer (brother of Josiah) is appointed guardian over two minors:
Abbie E. (Elizabeth A.) Farmer, minor, age 16 yrs 26 Jul 1885 [evidently means her most recent birthday]
Eugene Farmer, minor, 20 yrs 19 Nov 1885.
These are children of Josiah/Joseph.
Date of record only given as 1886.
Probate Packet #11409 for estate of Henry Farmer, d. 3 Dec 1883 in Munroe [sic] Twp., Wayne, Michigan, record dated only 1883
Name of the executor not present in the Farmers, must have been someone with a different surname.
Heirs all with surname Farmer
Axell, nephew, Charles, nephew, Elizabeth, niece, Eugene, nephew, Henry, nephew, John, brother, John, nephew, Joseph, nephew, Stephen, nephew
This would seem to confirm that Henry never married and remained close to the children of his brother Josiah/Joseph.
Another brother, John Farmer, is in the Wayne Co. death records; the only other thing we know about him is that his wife was named Catherine. There are a couple of candidates from other families as Catherine, but we have no documentation.
Poor young Abel/Abraham seems to have turned in to Axell in this one.
