The indication of father-in-law, with an illegible name, is interesting, in that it has been reported that Elmira's mother never married. Joseph Romeo (perhaps with a clearer copy) indicates that the father-in-law is Joel Durham.

Notes for T
HOMAS MUNCE:
The listings for this family are not consistent. However, numerous census searches have not yielded other possibilities. Moreover, the issue of birthplaces being DE in 1850 and 1860, but then PA in 1870 and 1880 does not make sense.
Note that the move to Michigan in 1870 coincides with a similar move for his son Robert and that they are located just a couple of miles apart in Michigan.
1850 DE New Castle Appoquinomink 100 p215wr[verso] p428st 5[?] Sept 1850 - all mulatto, all bDE

Note change of spelling of surname from one page to the next.

Thomas Mounts 40 laborer PE 30, Mary 38, Robert 15, George 8, Benjamin, 4.
Next door to family of John Mounts 38, presumed brother. See notes for son Robert regarding census discrepancy or duplication. [DWF]
Is George the same son as Charles below? Note son Robert's listing for a possible discrepancy. Note also the disappearance of Frances.
1870 MI Wayne Van Buren (Rawsonville) p24wr taken 8 Jun 1870 - all white
Thomas Munson 53 farmer PE 300 bPA, Mary J. 42 F W keeping house bPA, Charles H 17 M W at school bNJ, Benjamin 13 M W at school bNJ, Ida 9 F W bNJ, Mary E. 2 F W bNJ, and Sally Durham 1/12 F W bMI. Sally probably a granddau, dau of an older married dau of Thomas and Mary J. [DWF]
1880 NJ Camden Gloucester City 2nd precinct p39wr p539st 17 Jun 1880 - all mulatto
Muncy Thomas 56 laborer bPA pbPA, Mary Jane wife 53 keeping house bPA pbPA, Robert son 33 laborer bPA pbPA, Charles son 32 laborer bPA pbPA, Benjamin son 24 works in gingham mill bPA pbP, Ida dau 19 bPA pbPA, Mary dau 12 bNJ pbPA, Elmer son 8 bNJ pbPA, Rebecca dau-in-law 20 bNJ pbPA, William grandson 3 bNJ pbNJ, Ida 5/12 grandchild bNov [1879] bNJ pbNJ. Both sons Robert and Charles are indicated as married.
Note 1: the parental birthplaces of the grandchildren (fbNJ) don't match any of the Muncy sons. Whose wife is Rebecca? Joseph Romeo suggests that Charles H. Munson may be the husband of Rebecca, father of Ida, and that Rebecca may be Rebecca Durham.
Note 2: How were Mary and Elmer both bNJ if Thomas and family were in Michigan in 1870, between their births?
1900 census shows oldest children b. PA, youngest b. DE. [JR]

Children of T
HOMAS MUNCE and MARY MDNNMUNKN are:
  i.   ROBERT C.3 MUNCE (Source: 1870 census.), b. 1847, Pennsylvania (Source: 1870 census.); d. Unknown; m. MORGIANNA MDNNMUNKN (Source: 1870 census.); b. 1849, Pennsylvania (Source: 1870 census.); d. Bef. 1880 (Source: Husband is alone and back with parents in 1880.).
  Notes for ROBERT C. MUNCE:
N.B. There are two Robert Munces in Delaware, born close together in about 1847 and 1850, and their fathers are brothers Robert and Thomas Munce. The later census listings for these sons may or may not be confused, due to inaccurate reporting of ages.

Note that the move to Michigan in 1870 coincides with a similar move for his father and that they are located just a couple of miles apart in Michigan (Rawsonville and Belleville).
1850 DE New Castle Appoquinomink - see father's listing
1860 DE Kent Dover 100 p71wr 9 Jun 1860
