4. HESTER2 DRIGGET (WILLIAM1 DRIGGERS) (Source: 1870 census. Maiden name from Judy Stewart (death certificate).) was born Jun 1842 in Delaware (Source: 1900 census.), and died Unknown. She married JOHN GRINAGE (Source: Wayne Co. Records.) Bet. 1869 - 1870, son of BENJAMIN GREENAGE and RACHEL MILLER. He was born Sep 1842 in Kent Co., Delaware (Source: Wayne Co. Records.).

Notes for J
OHN GRINAGE:

In 1900, just a couple of doors away from son Frank.
From the years married, Betsy must be the same as Hester, though the 1 child may indicate that she is not the same as the mother of John's first four children..
1910 OH Lucas Sylvania Village p5Bwr 20 Apr 1910 - all white
Grinage John 67 mar three times 9y this time bDE pbDE lives on own income owns house no mortgage, Helen wife 65 mar twice[?] 9y this time 5 children 4 living bEngland pbEngland, Miller Josephine 24 single bMI fbDE mbMI

From these listings, one presumes that dau Mary J. died (or married VERY young] prior to 1880. A two-pronged question arises: Are the older children John's natural children, and if so, are they all by Hester? Quite apparently, Frank is a son by Hester. But the others could be John's from a first marriage or Hester's from a prior marriage. Knowing that John married Sarah Farmer in MI in 1868 is the issue.

Compare:
1860 MI Monroe Bedford Twp. (Lambertville) no page number
Harriet Hoag 25 F W farming b. NY
Allice M.[?] 7 F W b. MI
John Pratt 18 M W b. MI laborer
John Grinnage 25 M W b. DE laborer
WHO IS THIS JOHN? He is too old to be John, son of Benjamin. Could he be John, son of Benjamin's brother John, nephew of Benjamin?

Child of H
ESTER DRIGGET and JOHN GRINAGE is:
8. i.   FRANK3 GRINAGE, b. Jun 1870, Ohio; d. Unknown.

5. WILLIAM2 DRIGGET (WILLIAM1 DRIGGERS) (Source: Washtenaw Co. Records.) was born 1845 in Delaware (Source: 1880 census.), and died Bet. 1880 - 1882 (Source: By deduction.). He married SARAH C. SIMONS (Source: 1870 census.) 1873 in Washtenaw Co., Michigan (Source: Washtenaw Co. Records.), daughter of ROBERT SIMONS and MARY PERKINS. She was born 1855 in Delaware (Source: 1870 census.), and died Bef. 1899 in Michigan (Source: From father's probate records.).

This Sarah is likely the daughter of Robert Simons and Mary Perkins, who lived next door.
1880 MI - see husband's listing.
1910 MI - see husband's listing after Sarah's death.

Sarah was the niece of Wilson Dean (daughter of Mary Perkins who was the sister of Wilson's wife). So widower Wilson later married his niece-by-marriage, widow Sarah Simons Drigget.

  Notes for HELEN DRIGGET:
See census listing under father. Curious in that "Helen" is listed as a son and is at end of family list, after younger children. Or does S stand for "single"? Could she be the same person as Lettie?
