He married Catherine Fox, daughter of John Fox and Jannitje Bogert. She was born Abt. 1802 in NJ, and died September 23, 1873 in New York.

Notes for Harmen Vanderbeck:
Herman (Harmen) died of a carbuncle infection according to his death certificate. He was buried in Greenwood cemetery in Brooklyn. he is listed as living at 408 West 16th Street on his death certificate.

Catherine must have had a sister named Margaret, as Margaret is listed in the 1850 census's; however, maybe she is a sister-in-law, because she is listed as widowed.

Catherine died in 1872 and is buried with Harmen and John Jacob at Greenwood cemetery.

Margaret must be mistakenly listed as widowed, as she died in 1891 and is listed as single on her death cert. She was living with Richard Barnecott when she died.

Notes for John Jacob Vanderbeck:
Buried in Greenwood cemetery on July 1st, 1867. His father died later on that month. John Jacob died of an abscess. His death certificate is filed with the NYC municipal archives and is listed alphabetically at the end of the 1867 year. It is not listed between U and W. Rather it is listed after Z.

Single when he died.
