She married August Ludwig Baartz on January 16, 1868 in Toulon, Illinois, son of Unknown and Louisa Marie Baartz.

She lived in Grand Island, Nebraska, at the time of her death; she had gone to Kewanee to visit, and died there. She is buried in the Grand Island cemetery. She had lived there since 1885, had settled in Kewanee at age 16.
