August Torval Magnusen Sather (son of Magnus Torkildsen Sather and Marthine Arntsdatter) was born February 16, 1889 in Elverum, NOR, and died February 13, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI, USA.
Notes for August Torval Magnusen Sather: According to Lorraine Fischer (nee Huseby). Her mother (Berte Schultz) lived on 94th and Coldspring. Aunt Esther Schalk (nee Sather) and Uncle Gust (August Sather) were visiting. He had a car. He was going to drop Esther off at the Rapid Transit (100th and Coldspring). Grandma (Berte) always kept her clocks set 5 minutes fast, but they didn't know it. When they got to the Rapid Transit they were 5 minutes early. He dropped her off and started to leave, crossing the tracks. He was hard of hearing so he didn't hear the train whistle. A train traveling at full speed from Milwaukee to Hales Corners and East Troy hit his car and carried it several hundred feet down the tracks. Aunt Esther was standing in shed and saw it happen and probably ran home. Lorraine and her husband (Rudy Fischer) lived nearby on 95th and Coldspring. Someone came to tell them and Rudy an avid photographer went out and got the picture.
