1. ROBERT1 CORBETT was born Abt. 1745 in Milford, CN. He married ELIZABETH UNKNOWN.
Notes for ROBERT CORBETT:
In the winter of 1791, Robert and Elizabeth Corbett , left Milford, CN with their
nine children, a son in law, a daughter in law and a grandchild. By March, they
were living in, as they named it, New Milford, PA. Their oldest son, Asaph, aged
22 and his new bride moved further west to Seneca Lake as did their eldest
daughter, Edith aged 19, her husband and 2 year old daughter. A son, Warner
died in 1795. Their younger daughters, whose names are not given, married
and settled in Susquehanna County, PA.
In 1801, Robert and Elizabeth sold their home and moved a few moles north across the New York state line to what became Corbettsville. With the help
of sons, Sewell and Cooper, he built a saw and grist mill, a house, barn and smithy. Robert was one of several ferrymen on the Susquehanna River between Big Bend and Corbettsville.
