| The country then was fierce and wild But upon this soil would come a child. In hopes of freedom he'd bravely come To find peace and love and build his home. What hardships and dangers would he know The honor of heritage to him we owe. Lest we forget this hearty band Who gave their all in this new land. We must remember and write it down To learn our history before it's gone. With each new name we salute the past In hope the memories will forever last. So search and seek and shed a tear For all those brave young pioneers. With heartfelt gratitude to the memory of John "The Scot" Simpson and his descendants. |
