This Family Page is dedicated to my Father, William Gene Kressler who has constantly tried to keep this family connected.
The Family Tree started its roots at a small family reunion in 1982 in an outdoor park in Stonington, Conneticut. It brought together for the first time some branches of Kresslers from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Conneticut, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I sat and gathered all the information I could from my second cousins, Pat Goodrich and Bill Cain. From that information I began searching the mysteries of my family and have continued to expand on their information ever since.
As the years have progressed I have discovered so much more about this dynamic and history rich family. How they came here, why, where all the different branches have put down roots and through research, the constant discovery of another missing piece of this family puzzle.
The family reunions continue even to this day and more and more cousins and friends join us each year. One glorious Saturday each July we gather in Masschusetts and catch up on family and watch as the Aunts, Uncles and Cousins pour over the Family Tree Chart (4' x 8') and see how much more it has grown since last year! We share old pictures, family stories and add new members to the chart. At the end of the day we take a photograph to mark one more year in this family's history and promise to meet again next year.
What started out with a bit of searching has turned long ago relatives into real people with real lives, hopes and dreams. This has become my legacy of love to my family. It is a gift to hand on at some point, to the "Keepers of our Light" in the next generations to come. This is just a beginning and an attempt to get this down permanently. There are errors and blank parts, but in time these will be filled in correctly and added too.
Please enjoy this information and help us, through your research, to fill in some of the missing pieces to our family's history along with your own. Best of luck with your research!!
