The John Fitzpatrick Family Home Page

I am presently researching FITZPATRICK. The family came to Canada from Ireland apparantly back in the 1850's. The first ancestor I know about is Charles. Somehow he found his way to Pomeroy, OH in Meigs Co. My Great-Great Grandfather James was born there. He served as a Capt. in the Union Navy on river boats. After the war he worked on river boats along the Ohio.
He died a pauper in 1893 and was buried in an unmarked grave in Green Lawn Cemetary, Portsmouth, OH next to his first wife, Malinda.
His son, Randolph, my great grandfather was also born in Pomeroy, OH, but later moved to Ludlow, KY where he worked 41 years on the railroad, rising to the position of Trainmaster.
His son was Garrett Barnard. He worked for the Southern Railroad as an electrician as did my Dad, John T. Sr.

I am also researching TERRY, my mother's side of the family.
They originate from KY.
