2. WILLIAM2 PENIX (THOMAS1 PENNICK) was born Abt. 1774 in Harford Co. Maryland, and died November 1820 in Bethlehem Township, Stark County, Ohio. He married SARAH (?) Abt. 1798 in Pennsylvania.

His will was proved at the December 4, 1820 Term of Court. Common Pleas Journal, Volume B 1816-1824, Stark County, Ohio.

      In the name of God Amen, I William Penix of Bethlehem Township Stark County, Ohio being weak in Body but of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed by almighty God for the same Do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I wish to be buried in a decent manner in Mathias Shepers Grave yard first of all I will that my burial and other lawful debts be paid out of my estate I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sally Penix my Brown mare and spotted cow that I brought from Pennsylvania also all my household and kitchen furniture also my two sheep. I also will and bequeath to my eldest son John Penix my bay horse my saddle and bridle also my spotted heifer and one red sow pig. I also will and bequeath to my second son James Penix my mare, colt and tow sheep that he now claims also one spotted sow pig. I also will and bequeath to my eldest daughter nancy Penix one heifer calf black with a white face. I also will and bequeath tom second daughter Hannah Penix one pided heifer calf. I also will and bequeath to my third son Jacob Penix one red bull calf and the colt that my mare is with fold with. I also will and bequeath to my third daughter Nelly Penix my looking glass. I also will and bequeath to my two younger sons Caleb and William Penix one sow shoat apeace. I further will and bequeath to my eldest son John penix my plow and horse gears, doubletrees and clevises. And lastly the rest residue and remainder if any they be after my lawful debts be paid of my estate goods and chattels of what kind and nature soever I give and bequeath the same to my beloved wife Sally Penix whom I appoint and Nicholas Stumpe the sole executors of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hitherto set my hand and seal this second day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight [Hundred] and twenty.

Though William was living until late in 1820, the census for this enumeration year actually stretched well into 1821, according to Dollarhide. Sarah may have been recorded as "Widow Pinoch" on the 1830 census for West Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. 3
