Lived in Florida for approximately. 11 years prior to his death in 1915. Died of Pneumonia. According to his death certificate, his profession is listed as Bridge Tender. He originally was buried in Evergreen Cemetery in St. Augustine, Florida. He was subsequently disinterred and moved to Valhalla Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri, where he is interred in Space 6, Lot 35, Section 4. Interment space is not marked as of 6/94. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. His membership card was received at the Thayer, Missouri Lodge from the Indianapolis, Indiana Lodge on September 6, 1889.

  Notes for Elizabeth Ann Ellms:
Remained a widow after her husband was killed in the sinking of the RMS Lusitania in 1915. After the death of her mother, her siblings signed the family home in Thayer, Missouri over to her. At some point in time she moved to the Long Beach area, where she died on September 19, 1960. She was cremated and her ashes were interred in Grave 1, Lot 41 of the Daisy Section in Old Sunnyside Cemetery at 1095 E. Willow St. in Long Beach, California. Her sister, Gertrude Ellms Risher, had been interred in the same
grave on November 21, 1930. Her other sister, Kathryn Ellms Thompson, died five days after Elizabeth. She was also cremated, and they were both interred in Gertrude's grave on the same day (October 15, 1960). There is one marker on the grave, with the names of all three women and their sister, Madelyn Frances Ellms, whose remains were cremated and scattered at sea.

Died on approximately. November 19, 1930. Date of burial was November 21, 1930. Interred in Grave 1, Lot 41 of Daisy Section at Old Sunnyside Cemetery at 1095 E. Willow St. in Long Beach, California. When her two widowed sisters, Elizabeth Ellms Bloomfield and Kathryn Ellms Thompson, both died within five days of each other in 1960, they were both cremated and thier ashes were interred in Gertrude's grave on October 15, 1960. Gertrude's husband, Chester Howard Risher, survived her (Unknown. date of death at this time), and was buried in Oklahoma, according to notes in the records at Old Sunnyside Cemetery. The sisters are listed on a grave marker, along with a fourth sister, Frances Madelyn Ellms, whose remains were cremated and scattered at sea.

Member of the International Order of Odd Fellows in Thayer, Oregon County, Missouri. He was initiated on December 26, 1890. He was suspended from membership on September 11, 1896 for nonpayment of dues.

Alternate year of birth per her death certificate was 1870. Lived for some time in the Long Beach area, possibly with her widowed sister, Elizabeth. Died five days after Elizabeth, on September 24, 1960. Both sisters were cremated and thier ashes were interred in Grave 1, Lot 41 of Daisy Section of Old Sunnyside Cemetery at 1095 E. Willow St. in Long Beach, California. Thier sister, Gertrude Ellms Risher, had previously been interred in the same grave on November 21, 1930. All of the sisters, including a fourth sister, Frances Madelyn Ellms whose remains were cremated and scattered at sea, are listed on the grave marker.

Notes for Richard Robert Hughes:
Richard Hughes emigrated from Rhoscolyn, Anglesey, Wales to America with his parents when he was five years old (approximately 1844). The family settled in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he was married in 1863 to Miss Jane Jones of that city, according to information in his obituary. He eventually moved with his wife and children to Cottonwood Township, North Dakota in 1884 and commenced farming. After turning 60, he "proved up" land in Canada and farmed there until returning to the city of Fessenden, North Dakota in 1909. He died there and was interred in the Hillside Cemetery in Fessenden, where his wife had been buried after she died in 1914..

  Notes for Jane Jones:
Jane Jones was born in Wales, and emigrated to America with her parents as a child. An alternate date of her birth according to LDS records is July 22, 1841. They eventually settled in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was married to Richard Hughes in Oshkosh, according to information in her obituary. Also according to her obituary, her parents died in Oshkosh, but we do not have any dates or further information on their deaths at this time. She moved to Wells County, North Dakota with her husband and family in approximately 1884. They lived on their farm, which was located approximately 10 miles South of Fessenden, North Dakota, until they built a home in Fessenden about 3 years prior to her death in 1914. The obituary stated that she was the mother of 10 children, 6 of whom survived her. Her funeral was held from the Congregational Church in Fessenden, and the interment followed at the Hillside Cemetery, where her husband was subsequently buried in 1919.
