Hello...I am beginning a search for my family on my mother's side. The only information I have is a marrige certificate dated 1894. The marrige took place between my Great-Grandmother, Giacinta DI TOMMASO and my Great-Grandfather, Vito DE MARIA. They were married on November 12, 1894 in Italy. The marrige took place in the City Hall of CANNETO OF BARI. Vito was 24 years old, and Giacinta was 18. Giacinta's parents were present. Their names were Vito Nicola DI TOMMASO and Angelica MORIZIO. Vito's parents were also present. Their names were Vito Nicola DE MARIA and Filomena GIUSTO. All were residents of CANNETO. My Great-Grandparents, Vito and Giacinta went on to have many children during their long marrige, but in the early 1900's, somewhere around 1906, my great-grandfather came to America to look for a better life. He found himself in San Diego. He sent for his family sometime around 1908. My Great-Grandmother left ANGELICA and FILOMENA; the two oldest daughters in Italy with my Great-Great Grandfather Vito Nicola, and borded a ship with my Great-Uncle NICOLA/NICHOLAS, and my Grandmother, THERESA. (Theresa passed away last Christmas, December 23, 1996)OTHER INFORMATION:.Vito Nicola (My Great-Great Grandfather) was left as a baby on the steps of an orphanage. The family name was changed to DeMarino from De Maria somewhere along the line. I would appreciate any help and information. Their is only one sibling left living from the VitoGiacinta union. Her name is Rose (DeMarino) Foster, and she lives in San Diego. Thank you.
