Brad's ancestors originally came to the U.S. came from Scandinavia in the 1860's and 1870's.His father's side of family came from the Fyresdal parish in Telemark, Norway.His mother's side of the family came from Grue, in Hedmark, Norway and Malmohus in Sweden. The Telemark side of the family was firmly rooted in this remote and mountainous region of Norway.Although not fully explored most lines are traced back to the early 1600's when church records began.In particular, Brad has a substantial amount of information, not yet posted here, on his emigrant great-grandfather Tarje Olson Flatten from Flaten under Bondal in Fyresdal.
