Anthony Loll and Mary Ann came to America in 1852 accompanied by their young children. In 1856 the family came to Knox Township and settled there. They lived near George Eckel, Max Hofmeister, Ludwig Schill, and J. T. Hirst.

Anthony Loll immigrated with family to USA on the "Bark Olivia" landing in New York City in October 1852. He applied for citizenship August 24, 1857 and became a citzen October 7, 1868. Since the family settled in western Pennsylvania where German families had gathered to form a community, it is reasonable to assume that the Loll family had some prior contacts or correspondence before leaving Europe
