| My "Easons"--- are the ones that moved and left no forwarding address..the ones I am aware of were in Georgia. My grandfather James William Eason was born in Carroll Co., Carrollton, Ga. 9 June 1861 married Fanny Carrie White 11 Jan. 1883--the daughter of Stephen A. White and Martha McGarity. Fannie Carrie was born 1863. They had five children: Lena b 1886 m Tilman David Glenn , John b 1888 m Bess Burt, Bell b 1891 m Floyd Henry Glenn, Ruth b 1896 m John Wright and Ance b 1893. Fannie Carrie died 1899. James William then married my grandmother Carrie Louella Lowry 12 Jan. 1902 in Carroll Co., Carrollton, Ga. Carrie's parents were Doc Payne Lowry and Mary Camelia Bates, siblings: Amos Leroy, Dewey, Claud, William, Mattie Viola, Reno and Carrie. Eleven children were born to James and Carrie: Maude b 1897(?bdate) m Kiser Clark, she d in 1973, Perry b 1902 m Net Satier, 2nd wife was Marie Oliver, Marvin b in 1904 m Viola Head. Marvin d 1980, Odie Pearl b 1906 m Clyde Walden Brown. She died 1968. Melvin b 1908 m Maude Heath d 1951, Eula Mae b 1910, m Clifford Edgar Heath, 2nd husband was Edward Leroy Lee. She died 1991. Thelma b 1912, m Calvin Cecil Napier then Ed Herdon. Climest b 1915, m a ? Whington and a ? Irvin. Clifton(my father) b 1917, m Mary Ethel Strickland in 1940. He died Feb. 1993. Aaron b 1920, m a Dorothy Short and Mervin Jones. He d 2001, and Ethel b 1922 m Jimmy Hollis. She died 1970. These Easons lived in Carrollton, Columbus, Porterdale, Cartersville, LaGrange, Hogansville, Thomaston, and Zebulon, Ga. James William was born to ?(William) Eason and Sarah Elizabeth Johnson, married 27 Nov. 1853. Hoping cousins will come forward and admit kinship. o:) I have some new information on some of the Easons and Lowrys...I am also looking for the Stricklands. My father was Loyd Clifton Eason born in Carroll Co., Ga. in 1917 m my mother, Mary Ethel Strickland, b May 14, 1920 to Samuel William Strickland b 10 April 1879 and Lula Damon(s) b abt. 1883 Children: Calvin married Beulah, Lillie m J. D. Gray, Aretta b 1923 m Harvey Hancock, James m ?, Leo b 1917 m Martha ?, Welton m Lucille ? he died in car wreck in Balto, MD, Homer m Loy ?, Amy m a Hill. Mary Ethel Strickland d April 1993. Loyd Clifton d Feb. 1993 buried at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 19. Upson, Co., Thomaston, Ga. buried by Sam and Lula Strickland. Still looking March 3, 2012... |
