LIFE IS BUT A STOPPING PLACE, A PAUSE IN WHAT'S TO BE, A RESTING PLACE ALONG THE ROAD TO SWEET ETERNITY, WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT JOURNEYS, AND DIFFERENT PATHS ALONG THE WAY, WE ALL WERE MEANT TO LEARN SOME THINGS, BUT NEVER MEANT TO STAY.

The picture shown above, is a group of Monroe County men photographed Sept 13 1923 in Seymour, Indiana. The men are four brothers,
JOHN WESLEY FLEETWOOD age 79 seated on the left, with WILLIAM RILEY FLEETWOOD age 82 seated on the right, standing on the left LOUIS DENNIS FLEETWOOD age 74, standing on the right THOMAS ELI FLEETWOOD age 76. (Identification was provided by Mary Lou Mitchell)
A Story appeared in the Indianapolis Star Sept. 24 1923. Reads as follows "Jackson County Pioneer has First Barber Shave" Seymour,Indiana Sept.13, 1923 William R. Fleetwood, 82 years old, a farmer living in the western part of Jackson county, had his first shave in a barber shop here today. He came here with his three brothers, J.W.,79 T.E.,76, and L.D., 74,to sit in a group picture at a local studio. This was the first time the men had been photographed. William R. Fleetwood,, the eldest brother, forgot to shave before he left home and his brothers insisted that he go to a barber shop before the picture was taken. He didn't see the necessity of removing his spectacles before his face was lathered and had a little trouble in getting adjusted in the barber's chair.
The Fleetwood brothers live on land which they cleared and together own almost 1,200 acres in this and adjoining counties. They said they remember when deer and other animals roamed in the unbroken forest near their father's home, in the western part of the county.
