| My research on my father's side goes back to my great-grandfather, CHARLES JAMES FLEMING, a barrister on England's Queen Victoria's court in the 1800's. My grandfather, CHARLES HAMILTON FLEMING, was in the military in England and immigrated to the United States in the late 1800's. Residences of record are in Connecticut and Toronto, Ontario. My father's mother, MARY NEWMAN, was born in England to SOLOMON NEWMAN, but was raised by the WILLIAMS family in the U.S. On my mother side, my grandfather was named EVERETT ELTON LEACH and my grandmother was MABEL JONES. EVERETT was born in Wisconsin. MABEL traces back to the CARSON family and I was told there is some connection with KIT CARSON but this has not been confirmed. I'm looking forward to hearing from fellow "geneologists" and sharing information. |
