| NIHILO NISI CRUSE WITH NOTHING BUT THE CROSS I started lookig into dad's family in the hope of finding out more anout my Grandmother Helen Knox. & presenting dad with a wonderfull and Unique christmas present. That was five years ago,and the search continues today. Unfortunatley My dad passed away before i could show him the results of my search. But in that search i have found and re-connected with Aunt's & cousins's :) Most of the information i have on these pages i have researched myself and double checked. The Barbour’s are septed to no clan,but are Freemen who are entitled to wear two tartans. The Ancient Kennedy[the set of Ayeshire] And The Red Huntly [Aberdeenshire] My Barbour,family originally came from Ayreshire on the west coast of Scotland to Dumbartonshire about 1905. Since then the family has Spread their wings. While some remain in Dumbarton and surrounding areas, others have settled in England, Ireland, Canada and Australia |
