My name is Nancy Petty Fleming. I have been researching my family history for over seven years. I have traced my family history from the 1500's in Norwich, England to current family members. I have compiled a database of over 1000 family members. My first ancestor to arrive in America was Thomas Petty. He arrived in Jamestown, Virginia in 1640. My ancestors were pioneers, migrating from Virginia to North Carolina to Tennessee to Arkansas and all points west. Most of my family settled in Pope County, Arkansas. This is in the Ozark Region of northwestern Arkansas. My great-great uncle was the wagonmaster of the "Petty Train" that brought many of the settlers to this area. Some allied familes are Morris, Garton, Phelps, Herrington, Harmon, McIntyre, Price, Caudle, Curtis and Divine. I am very interested in finding more information. I compiled a book called "The Petty's of Arkansas, ancestors and decendants of William Green Petty. It has all 1000 family members included plus pictures. If anyone has any information on my family, I would be very interested. I really would like to find old family bibles or old documents with reference to my family.
